Today’s General Hospital recap for November 16, 2023, details Ava’s rage, Anna’s fears, Cody’s confession, and much more.
Ava Kicks Austin Out Of Her Life
Austin (Roger Howarth) popped into Ava’s (Maura West) gallery but the mood was tense. They made some small talk about Mason’s (Nathanyael) fate, but then Ava got right down to it. Would Mason be willing to give up their big boss, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober)? Austin tried to keep a straight face, but Ava wasn’t having it. He didn’t deny he was working for Cyrus, which was all the proof she needed that he was.
Ava unleashed her fury over all the months that she did whatever he said all in the hopes of getting Nikolas’s body back and Austin was playing her. Austin claimed everything he did was to protect Ava. At this point, Ava was too hurt and angry to listen to his explanations.
Austin claimed his feelings for her were real before explaining how his family got involved with Cyrus. Years ago, he set up a legitimate trucking business in Pautuck and worked with his family. He also explained that Cyrus paid for his medical school and felt like he owned him. That was why he testified on Cyrus’s behalf. He made him do it to save Ava — and as payback.
Every time Austin tried to defend himself, Ava got angrier until she finally screamed that he cared more about working for Cyrus than he did her sanity and well-being. Austin still insisted that he was just trying to save her, but an angry Ava credited Joss (Eden McCoy), Dex (Evan Hofer), and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) with that.
After Ava told Austin that she hated him, he looked like he was near tears as he apologized for everything.
The Curious Case Of Charlotte
Dante told Sam (Kelly Monaco) everything Anna (Finola Hughes) told him about Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) and she wasn’t buying it. She didn’t see this in Charlotte when she lived with them. She was convinced that Charlotte truly believed she was protecting Dante by going after Anna.Â
Anna stopped by Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) office to tell him she now knew that he was the target of the Metro Court pool shooting and explained why she felt that way. Charlotte was the one stalking her and she knew a teenage girl could never get her hands on a weapon like that and shoot. It turned out Sonny pretty much knew what Anna was going to say.
Anna was still adamant that there was no evidence that Charlotte burned her house down, but she was the red spray paint vandal. Anna felt Charlotte needed help and didn’t need to be prosecuted. What Sonny didn’t know was that Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) knew everything and covered it up.
Anna also felt that Valentin essentially killed their relationship in his efforts to protect Charlotte. But her biggest heartbreak was Charlotte believing Anna shot her on purpose. Anna also still believed that Forsyth was a threat.
A Future For Cody And Sasha
Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) told Maxie (Kirsten Storms) she couldn’t work with Cody (Josh Kelly) because she had feelings for him so Maxie said, that was fine since he had feelings for her too. That line brought Cody out of hiding and it was clear that he heard everything. Maxie left the two of them alone to talk about this on their own.
Once alone, Cody admitted that Maxie was right, he had feelings for her. Cody explained that when he first started helping her after learning what Gladys was up to, it was about justice. However, he eventually started to care for her.
Cody confessed he was at the point of always thinking about her and wondering when he would see her again. This made Sasha uncomfortable, so she asked him to stop while telling him how much she appreciated him.
However, she was still mourning Liam and Brando (Johnny Wactor) and needed time before she got involved with someone else. Sasha clarified that she was turning him down — for now. Sasha didn’t know how long it would be, but he was willing to wait until she was ready.
Josslyn Has An Adam Problem
As Josslyn walked into her dorm room, Adam (Joshua Benard) caught up with her in the hallway begging to study but Joss turned him down. He was a nervous wreck about his grades and started to get aggressive until Dex showed up and stopped him.
Joss tried to calm things between Dex and Adam, but Adam wouldn’t let it go. Joss finally told him they couldn’t study anymore, which disturbed Adam more than it should have.
When Joss and Dex were alone, she expressed her concern about Adam. His parents were pressuring her and she wasn’t sure how much more he could take. Dex was proud that Joss was in Adam’s corner and hoped she could help him. The subject soon turned to Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). He kept texting her to help him smooth things over with Trina (Tabyana Ali).
As for Adam, he popped a few prescription pills to get him through his solo studying session.
