The General Hospital recap for October 19, 2023, has Trina giving Spencer a reality check while Laura got one of her own about Charlotte. Plus, Finn had a proposition for Elizabeth.
Spencer Gets a Wakeup Call
Trina (Tabyana Ali) spent her first day back at the Jerome Gallery remembering her night in New York with Spencer. It was Spencer (Nicholas Alexander) who interrupted her thoughts with the gift of coffee. He informed her that Laura was back and Nikolas (Adam Huss) was alive, but Nik was also still MIA.
Spencer put his foot in his mouth when he explained to Trina that he didn’t want Nik to come home because he would ruin the routine he had with Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) and Ace. Trina was infuriated to hear this and sick of Esme and Ace always taking precedence in his life. Trina asked if Ace might need his father and could only roll her eyes when Spencer said he didn’t because he had him.
Trina insisted that Ace needs his actual dad around and reminded Spencer that he and Nik were close when he was a child. Spencer still didn’t want Ace influenced by Nik. Trina wondered how he could be ok with Esme’s influence because the old Esme could still be lurking beneath the surface. She finally demanded that Spencer snap out of it when it comes to Esme.
Trina was sure that Esme would jump at the chance to be with Spencer again if she could. She was definitely enjoying playing house with him and turning Spencer into Ace’s father figure. Trina pointed out that Spencer was Ace’s brother and not his father so the baby was not his responsibility. She wanted Spencer to start thinking about a future with her without Esme.
When she asked Spencer where he saw himself in five years and what makes him happy, he said that it was Ace and Trina who kept him happy.
Laura’s Stunned, Anna’s Scared
Laura (Genie Francis) arrived at Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) new house worried about what he would tell her about Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez). He explained what was going on with Charlotte, including his belief that she burnt Anna’s (Finola Hughes) house to the ground. Laura could barely believe what Valentin was informing her about her granddaughter.
Laura insisted there was a way to help Charlotte but Valentin wasn’t so sure. He knew he couldn’t get through to her but hoped that Laura could. At least Laura was smart enough to realize Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) had a lot of influence on Charlotte before he died. Valentin finally realized Victor was using Charlotte as a weapon.
Anna and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) met up at the Metro Court and Anna wanted a table in the corner to try to stay out of sight. Poor Anna was sure someone out there was still after her and spent and spent her life being paranoid at every turn. She was still convinced the WSB was involved.
The subject then turned to Jordan and her life. She had to admit she liked being deputy mayor and wasn’t ready to return to her police commissioner position. That’s when Portia (Brook Kerr) arrived to take Jordan to task for not telling her Cyrus (Jeff Kober) had been released from prison.
Liz’s Big Weekend, Alexis’s Quest
Finn (Michael Easton) told Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) he was grateful for her recommendation of a new ALS specialist for Gregory (Gregory Harrison). His dad liked the new doc but Finn didn’t like that his and Liz’s dinner plans were ruined the night before. To that end, he asked her to go away with him for the weekend instead.
There was a cabin he could borrow so Liz said yes and got herself a babysitter for two teenage boys. Apparently, Gram Audrey (Rachel Ames) is still in Port Charles but just off-screen.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was ready to interview the judge who sentenced Drew and hoped he would tell her something that could help set Drew (Cameron Mathison) free despite Drew actually committing the crime he was sentenced for. She confronted the judge about his fancy fishing trip just to see what he would say.
